Amy and I are very blessed to have many of the standard registry items already. While you will find some select gift ideas below, we also would be delighted if you would consider donating to one of our selected charities in place of a gift! Please note that Paypal charges a 2.5% processing fee, and our registry provider also charges a handling fee. If you wish to avoid credit processing fees, you may also contribute via check or Venmo! (@AmyScheel, @Xander-Cz) Be sure to indicate in the memo if you have a specific fund in mind!
When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their safety, they are usually brought to a child welfare services office to await placement with a foster carer or safe relative. This wait can be a few hours to several days. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in dirty clothing.
Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while child welfare staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good placement.
The mission of Isaiah 117 House is threefold:
reduce trauma for children awaiting placement,
lighten the load for child welfare services,
and ease the transition for foster families.

Note from Amy:
Isaiah 117 creates a physical house for kids to go to while they are in the very first stage of entering foster care. The next house is being built in Rockingham County, where I grew up, and where we have lots of friends who have cared for children in our community. Join us in supporting our local kids, foster parents, and social workers with this new house!
Xander will write here.
